MY 2004 Fishing Reports

May 23rd 2004-  Fished for a while at Sebec Lake for bass around the shore, it was rainy and cool. I saw lots of huge bass swimming around but nothing seemed to want to bite. I tried the fly rod a worm and crankbaits. I finnaly caught one small bass(probobly 8") on a crankbait. I'm hoping things soon get better.

May 30th 2004- We fished for a while in a small brook in Amhurst, ME. All together we landed over 40 brook trout, the water level was about perfect. The fish ranged from 4-9 inches. We through all of them back. All fish were caught on worms with a spinner and one was caught on a fly-rod, with a Mayfly.

May 31st 2004- We fished from a boat in Davis pond in Eddington, ME.  There was a little chop on the water at times. We caught 1 smallmouth bass(15"), 3 pickerel (12-20") and one yellow perch(6"). All fish were caught on crankbaits and grubs.

June 11th 2004- We fished for stripers in the penobscot from a small boat. We put in at Eddington,ME. The fishing was very slow the first couple hours, we didnt even get a bite. Then the last 20 min we were fishing around a small structure near Eddington and caught three stripers in less than 20 min. They were small 15", 18", 20". But still alot of fun to catch. They were all caught on crankbaits about an hour after high tide.

June 12th 2004- Trolled for salmon in Sebec lake with  Grey ghost fly on one rod and a worm on the other rod, and got skunked. Then I decided to fish for bass around the shore and caught seven smallies biggest was 12" and smallest was 8". All bass were caught on spinner baits. All and all a pretty good day.

June 13th 2004- Fished for Stripers again in the penobscot river in Bangor from a boat. The tide was very low. I saw a few jump and one came and looked at my lure and then swam off, it was around 20 inches. Got skunked in the end. Oh well, I'll try again later this week.

June 17th 2004- Fished from a boat for stripers in the penobscot, very sunny and warm day. I saw a huge striper probobly 36" swimming around the boat but he wouldnt bite my crankbait. We got a few hits later on crankbaits, but got skunked in the end.

June 19th 2004- Fished for bass in sebec lake from a boat, fishing started of slow, but soon picked up. All together we probobly landed 10 plus bass a few perch and a couple pickerel. We bassically used everything in the tackle box but had the best luck on crankbaits and Red Daredevils.

June 20th 2004- Fly fished around the shore at sebec lake do to rough conditions. Caught 3 bass the 2 bigest were 18 and 16 inches caught on a Micky Finn streamer. The other was about 12" caught on a bucktail with a spinning rod.

June 22nd 2004- Fished for Stripers in the penobscot from a boat. It was overcasty and raining at times. The water temp was 67 degrees. Caught one striper(about19") as soon as we got there. And that was it for the night, except for a little smallmouth bass. The striper was caught on a soft body 4" shad lure. And the bass was caught on a crankbait. There were lots of big stripers jumping below Hampden Marina, but we couldn't get any.

June 23rd 2004- Fished in the Scarborough river and marsh area in Scarborough with all diffent kinds of lures, on the incoming tide. It was very hot and sunny. I got skunked, I didn't even see the fisherman using bait get any.   Oh well.

June 26th 2004- Fished for Stripers in the penobscot from a boat. There wasn't much around, we hardly saw anything jump or any sighns of baitfish(herring). It rained for awhile and we eventually caught one small striper(15"). We caught him on a crankbait.

June 27th 2004- Fished Sunkhaze stream up in Milford for trout. I lost one fairly good sized trout. But that was it except for a Pickerl(12") and some chubs. I had heard that this stream was supposed to be great fishing for trout, but once we caught the pickerel I pretty much gave up all hope.
